Postpane (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit postpane.com or use Postpane’s products and services (collectively, the “Services”).
Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account data: such as your name, email address, and credentials when you register or sign in.
- Content you provide: including text, images, brand assets, designs, and other materials you upload or generate while using the Services.
- AI generation inputs: prompts and instructions you submit when using AI-powered features, such as the content generation tools in the studio. These inputs are transmitted to a third-party AI processing provider to generate responses (see AI-powered features below).
- Social account data: when you choose to connect a social account (such as Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn), we store your account identifier, username, display name, profile picture URL, and the OAuth access token required to act on your behalf. We collect only what is necessary to enable publishing features you have explicitly authorized.
- Usage and device data: such as browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, pages viewed, and interactions with the Services.
- Cookies and similar technologies: to operate the site, remember preferences, and measure traffic and performance (see Analytics below).
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- Process AI-assisted features when you choose to use them, based on your inputs and settings;
- Communicate with you about updates, security, and support (including service emails where permitted);
- Monitor usage, troubleshoot issues, and protect against fraud or abuse;
- Comply with law and enforce our agreements.
Analytics
We may use analytics tools (for example, Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use our website. Those providers may collect identifiers and usage data subject to their own policies. Where required, we rely on appropriate consent or legitimate interests as applicable law permits.
Sharing of information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who host infrastructure, send email, process payments, provide analytics, or power AI features—only as needed to perform services on our behalf. This includes the third-party AI provider that processes generation prompts, and social platforms (such as Meta) when you use connected account features;
- Professional advisors where appropriate (for example, auditors or lawyers);
- Authorities when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell your personal information as that term is commonly understood in privacy laws.
AI-powered features
Postpane offers AI-assisted content generation. When you use these features, your prompts and any contextual inputs (such as selected platform, tone, or brand settings) are sent to a third-party AI infrastructure provider to generate a response. We do not identify the specific provider by name in this policy as it may change; you can contact us for the current provider details.
We do not use your prompts or generated outputs to train AI models. Inputs are transmitted solely to produce the content you requested and are subject to the AI provider's data handling terms. We recommend you do not include sensitive personal information in AI generation prompts.
Social account integrations
If you connect a social account (currently Facebook and Instagram via Meta's platform), we store the OAuth credentials and account metadata required to publish or schedule content on your behalf. Specifically:
- We store your account identifier, username, display name, and profile picture URL to display your connected accounts in the interface.
- We store the OAuth access token provided by the platform. This token is used exclusively to perform actions you explicitly authorize within Postpane.
- We do not read your private messages, contacts, or any data beyond what is required to post content on your behalf.
- You can disconnect a social account at any time from the Channels section of your studio. Disconnecting removes the stored token and account data from our systems.
Your use of connected social platforms is also governed by those platforms' own terms and privacy policies.
Data deletion
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@postpane.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business necessity (such as fraud prevention or legal obligations).
If you have connected a social account (such as Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn), you can disconnect it at any time from the Channels section of your studio. Disconnecting immediately removes the stored OAuth credentials and account data from our systems and from our social management provider.
Posts you delete from Postpane are immediately removed from our database and, where applicable, cancelled or removed from our social publishing provider.
If you connected a social account via Meta and wish to request deletion through Meta directly, we will delete the corresponding credentials and account data from our systems upon receiving that request.
Retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and legal requirements.
Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage you to use strong passwords and safeguard your account credentials.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing or port your data. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights that apply to you, contact us at hello@postpane.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
International transfers
If you access the Services from outside the country where we operate servers or processors, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, except where prohibited by law.
